I recently found a primary school essay I wrote as a 10 year old. In it I said I wasn't sure what I wanted to be when I grew up, but it would have to do with media.
In 2007, after lenghty planning my parents sold their car to buy plane tickets to Ireland. They arrived in Dublin with nothing but a phone number and their humble amount of savings to make a better world for their three children. After half a year of hard-work, trials and triumphs, they got all of us tickets and we joined them in Cork.
I spent most of my days in 2014 studying. I recall falling asleep at the table while preparing for my Leaving Cert. The hard work paid off, and I got accepted to my first choice course, Multimedia at CIT (now MTU). Among the many interesting lessons was one, that I both loved and hated at the same time: Intro to web development. It was infuriating how precise you had to be with what you wrote in your code, but when it worked it was magic. I enjoyed the hard work that was involved both with college and coding.
I pride myself in being completely transparent, so here is the truth. The end of 2016 was an incredibly hard. I ended the year with health issues, which eventually prompted me to put my healh as my top priority. I wasn't about to give up on my dream & actively found ways to continue my education from home. I started taking online courses, joined freelancing platforms and focused on my recovery.
In 2017, I joined Fiverr which kickstarted my career as a freelance graphic designer. I have created over 300 logos, business cards, clothing designs, advertisements, book covers and even tattoos for people. while I loved illustrating, I felt like I was missing something.
In 2020, just as the first lockdown started, my incredible, sweet baby was born. From the moment he opened his eyes for the first time, I had this urge to show him that he can overcome anything, and dream big. I bought a few online courses and learnt web development from scratch while nursing my newborn at all hours of the day and night. I was coding and making websites on my phone, submitting assignments and joining support forums.
After a year of preparing and meticolous planning, on the 15th of July, 2021, Livu Solutions has officially opened. Now, I strive everyday to not only help others to have a website that is worthy of their business, but to show my son and my 10-year-old self, that through hard-work and a bit of luck, you can do anything.
Leona is brilliant to work with, really fast to respond and deliver. Very professional. I hired Leona to work on my website and I was thrilled with the result. Leona is also a really lovely person and a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend. 5 star service.
